Letters Home Hits: 1101

Dear parents and carers,

As a school, we are often well-placed to hear of the ways our children are engaging with online material. It is therefore an integral part of our online safety duty to ensure Sutton Park Primary pupils are accessing technology and online platforms in an age-appropriate and safe way.

We know that lots of our children are lucky enough to have access to devices and computer games consoles at home. We also provide opportunities for pupils to engage with devices such as iPads in school.

As a Trust, we work with the organisation ‘National Online Safety’ to ensure our staff are trained in the most up-to-date legislation regarding safeguarding and online safety. This organisation also produce useful guides for parents around topics such as:

Over the Autumn term, we will be sending a weekly ‘What parents and carers need to know about….’ guide. We hope that this supports you in understanding the ever-changing apps/platforms/games that children engage with and will support you to make appropriate decisions around both allowing them access and the supervision of children during use.

We will tweet the week’s guidance via our school Twitter channel each Wednesday too. You can follow us @SuttonParkPri

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Middleton and  Mrs Dunning
