Update on alternative FSM provision for w/c 27th April

During this period of school closure, we are pleased to be able to continue to offer eligible parents and pupils access to free school meals by supplying supermarket eGift cards, that can be spent locally to you.

In previous weeks, we have provided eligible parents and pupils with a £15 eCode per week. During the week commencing 27th April, eligible pupils will be issued with a £60 eCode, the equivalent of £15 per week for four weeks.

This is in line with updated guidance from the DfE and Edenred who provide the eCodes and eGift Cards. If eligible, once you have received this £60 eCode, you will receive no additional codes for the remainder of this half term. At this time, there are no plans to provide vouchers for May half term (w/c 25th May). Your £60 eGift card can be used in multiple transactions and on multiple visits, until you have spent the full value of the eGift card .

eCodes can be redeemed online for an eGift card for the supermarket of your choice by visiting www.freeschoolmeals.co.uk.  You can also find more details and FAQs here.

If you do not receive an eCode you are expecting (and you are certain that your child is eligible for free school meals) please check your SPAM/Junk email folders and with family members before contacting us as we have used the most up to date email address we have on file (this is often the one you have used with School Money). Orders will be fulfilled by a company called Edenred, so please look out for this name. The DfE have explained that due to high demand, there can be up to a 72 hour delay between school ordering the eCodes and them being emailed to parents/carers.

If you have successfully redeemed an eCode, but have queries about your eGift Card (for example, you haven’t received it within 24 hours of ordering it at www.freeschoolmeals.co.uk) then please contact Edenred by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and Edenred can look into this for you.

If you need to check your child’s eligibility for free school meals, or claim for more than one child, please do so by going on to the following website: cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/birmingham. If your application is successful, school will not be able to provide an eCode until we receive notification of your successful application. We are unable to provide any back-dated eCodes.

Thank you for your continued support at this challenging time.

The above information is for any parent who has a child eligible for Free School Meals (not including those eligible for the Universal meal offer for EYFS/Key Stage 1).
